How Ark House Began

Ark House began in 1985 as a mission of The Ark Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church of Richardson. One of their members, Mr. Ben Glomb, had to undergo months of cancer treatment in Houston, TX. No affordable housing was available to his family and it was a hardship for them to remain with him during that stressful time.

As a result, his Sunday School class began Ark House in the hope that families coming to Dallas for medical treatment would not have to endure the same difficulties as the Glomb family. Ark House has grown from one apartment located near Baylor Hospital to 19 apartments at two locations.
